Breakfast:

Fruit is also a smart idea at breakfast and can be added to brown rice, oatmeal or whole grain cereals.
Snack mid-morning:
Eat a simple and healthy snack like a piece of fresh fruit such as a banana or an apple. Another idea is to eat nuts such as walnuts, almonds or pumpkin seeds, but do not eat too many at once.
Lunch:
With this meal you can have a bigger sized meal with healthy foods. Good foods to eat for lunch include low fat cheese, cottage cheese or lean meats such as chicken or turkey.
You can supplement it with fresh fruit and a complex carbohydrate like a baked potato, sweet potato or brown rice. Non-starchy vegetables are also a smart idea like cucumbers, salad greens or tomatoes.
Snack mid-afternoon:
At this time of the day you want to have a protein boost, but only about one portion. You can also supplement your snack with vegetables that are non-starchy.
Dinner: This is the meal where you can enjoy eating a larger portion of protein. Any of the suggestions you learned above are a good idea and you can also add vegetables like cabbage, broccoli, salad greens or cauliflower.
Just be sure you do not add butter or dressings that are high in fat. Vinegars are a great choice for salads.
Evening snack: If you are still hungry after dinner, you can eat a piece of fresh fruit or a vegetable. Just be sure you are not eating this snack late at night.
